Welcome to our website and thank you for seeking out Thetford Netball Club.

We are very proud of our club and hope that you enjoy reading about our aims, aspirations and achievements.

Our home venue is in the beautiful Kings Gardens in Thetford, where we have a full size floodlit outdoor court plus additional training space, along with our own club house that we have completely refurbished with the help of our wonderful members and parents.

Our club was formed in the 1970’s and was originally, predominantly, for adult players. Around 10 years ago our junior section started to increase, and more recently the club has grown significantly. We now have over 80 junior members and approximately 60 seniors, with some players travelling over 40 miles to access our training opportunities!

Throughout our period of growth, we have maintained our desire to be a friendly and caring club and our aim is to enable people of all ages and abilities to enjoy netball through a player centred programme of activities for participation, development and excellence.

Each player is important to us and we offer everyone the opportunity to train regularly and to participate in match play. We are a Club for all and welcome enquiries from players of all abilities from Year 4 and beyond!

We are proud to hold the England Netball Silver Caps Award, (Club Action Planning Scheme); an accreditation recognising that we operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards. We have committed to ensuring a club environment which provides a higher quality of coaching, officiating, leadership and volunteering opportunities within the club.

We are also a competitive club and we aim to support every player to achieve their full potential. We actively encourage our members to seize additional opportunities to enhance their performance. Many have secured a place in a Performance Pathway; U13 and U15 County Academies, Mavericks Futures Academies, Mavericks , U17 and U19. We recognise the need to advise and nurture these players and support them with their time management and decision making.

Our elite senior players maintain their aspirations to improve and the club provides opportunities for all performance players to develop their individual and team strengths. These opportunities may include additional training sessions, appropriate match play and open discussions with our Head Coach.

The majority of our fixtures take place throughout Norfolk and Suffolk with our performance squad representing us across the Eastern Counties.

We really do encourage all ages and abilities at Thetford Netball Club and we have recently introduced Back 2 Netball and Walking Netball sessions. The number of participants attending is growing rapidly! Our Walking Netballers have already played in local tournaments and are now known as our ‘Thetford Blackbirds’. Our B2N sessions are encouraging players that have never played before or who have taken a break to come back to play in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where they can play netball at a pace that suits them.

We run Taster Days to encourage young players to come along and find out more about our club and to develop a love for the sport. We also operate a ‘Buddy’ system so that there is always someone on hand to make new players and parents to feel welcome.

Our Club is led by a hard working elected committee who willingly give their time to ensure that the club continues to develop in a positive and effective manner while maintaining our family values. They understand the need to invest in the training of volunteers and will support and offer opportunities that will contribute to their personal development.

Not only do we train hard and play hard we also have a fantastic social team who arrange fun events to bring our members together including Quiz & Bingo evenings, as well as Family Fun Days.

Our amazing sponsors support the Club in many ways including; resurfacing the court, rejuvenating floodlights, as well as providing funding for leagues, kit and equipment.

Coaching and officiating are also high on our agenda and our players regularly have opportunities to develop their understanding of the game further by training to be either a coach or an umpire.

As the Club’s Head Coach I am very proud of all of our coaches, players, umpires, parents, supporters and committee and admire their dedication and commitment to the Club.
